Content Creation Workflow for Entrepreneurs

Are you someone who struggles to create a process for your content creation? Are you a conscious, multi-passionate entrepreneur too busy to create content for your brand on Instagram?

Creating regular content that establishes thought leadership, intention, and creativity and moreover showing up consistently with value isn’t easy. We all know that. You are a CEO and not an Influencer. You don't want to devote all your precious time and energy to be on Instagram all the time. I know that about you. I respect that about you.

In today’s post, I am breaking down and sharing with you a simple yet effective content routine that will help you consistently create content and leave breadcrumbs of thought- leadership content while managing several responsibilities in your business.

Content Creation Workflow for entrepreneurs

STEP 1: Identify your core Instagram content pillars:

Content pillars are the 4-5 foundational and broad topics about your brand that needs to be talked about on your social media page over and over again.
Some inspiration for choosing your brand’s content pillars are as below:

1. Thought leadership content related to your industry

2. About your business: offers, ways to work with you, products, testimonials

3. Your core values: Topics you want to shine the light on as an entrepreneur

4. Your personal journey, cultural identity, Who really are you?

For example, my brand’s content pillars are Productivity for creators, Instagram tips, personal branding theories, and my creative journey.

When in doubt about what content you should be sharing on behalf of your personal brand, always come back to your key content pillars. This is a great time to review your content pillars for Instagram.

It always helps to set a cohesive tone on your page so your community knows what your brand stands for and is about.

Step 2: Distribute your content ideas for every pillar and spread it evenly on your content calendar.

When you have built your content pillars, it will be easier for you to map out ideas across these pillars. Going further, you can diversify these based on content formats. For example carousel posts, IGTV, graphics or pictures, etc.

STEP 3: Map a realistic content creation schedule

Map out a realistic content schedule that you can deliver keeping in mind your business, family, and personal commitments.

My best advice is to post in the below frequency:

  1. 3 posts a week on the grid.

  2. Daily Instagram stories (at least 8 stories).

  3. Regular weekly lives on Instagram

  4. 3 Reels a week

Stick to this schedule as consistent as possible.

STEP 4: Create a Batching Routine in your life

Content batching is a proven productivity system that helps you focus on similar tasks within a time period. For example grouping tasks like writing captions, working on scripts, or filming for multiple videos together.

Create a distraction-free content creation batching routine (once every 3- 4 days) where you are not interrupted by anything else: your babies, husband, work calls, or social media. Set a schedule (in the AM or PM) for a focused and deliberate practice for creating content.

Give this 1 hour to yourself to craft high-quality content, captions, and short videos that you can film. Your content batching process needs to come from a place where you feel calm, positive, and ready to rise as a thought-leader in your industry.

Watch my video on how to create a productive content creation ritual in your busy work lives.

When you set up a dedicated content creation workflow for your business, you will be able to show up more consistently for your business without the overwhelm. I promise it works.
Even the busiest CEO's take out time to journal and write content to show up as leaders in their industry.

What is stopping you from showing up online as the leader that you are?
